Letter to the editor

Dear Mr. Boyle,

I am writing this letter regarding your novel Tortilla Curtain. Firstly, I would like to tell you that I find your book very creative and artistically at a very high level. Secondly, it is a very actual and discussed issue not only in the U.S. but also around the whole world when it comes to integration and itassociated problemsThe controversial topic is packed into a very exciting and interesting history so that the reader get a very clear overview of the topic.

I have liked your story not only because of the reason that the topic of integration is very actual and important but also because of the emotional relationship of Candido and America. Their daily struggle to survive is described very well in your book. I think that illegal Hispanics still have survival problems. Your book should also appeal to the authorities of a country that they have to take care of the immigrants and not just let them or better to say force them to live in natureI find it very realistically written concerning Kyra and Delaney, they are a very good example for the local peopleThey think immigrated people are of second class and not a full member of the society. This shows that racism is another important theme in the novel and is displayed by quite a few persons including Delaney Mossbache. Another point that I find very interesting is that the lives of Kyra and Delaney are targeted life of Candido and America.

As a result, I would like to conclude that your book expresses very important topics i.e., racism, prejudice, and stereotypes in a society. We see the hopes of people and their disappointments very clearly. I would recommend your book to everyone because of the good story, and the understandable formulations of the fellings.

Sincerely yours,
Tortilla Curtain King
